Acoustic Wall Panels: Everything You Need to Know | Unisoar

Product Basics & Function

What are Acoustic Wall Panels and what do they do?

Acoustic Wall Panels are decorative panels designed to improve indoor acoustic environments. The primary function of these Acoustic Panels is to absorb echoes and reverberations within a room. By eliminating noise, they make speech and music much clearer while adding a modern wooden aesthetic to the space.

Are Acoustic Wall Panels soundproof and how effective are they?

It is important to clarify: Acoustic does not equal Soundproof. Our Acoustic Wall Panels focus on "sound absorption," meaning they reduce sound reflections inside the room to eliminate echoes. "Soundproofing," on the other hand, refers to blocking sound from passing through walls. While they cannot completely block noise from neighbors, installing Acoustic Wood Panels significantly enhances indoor auditory comfort.

Are Acoustic Wall Panels worth it?

Absolutely. Acoustic Wall Panels are one of the fastest and most cost-effective ways to upgrade a room. They not only solve noise issues in living rooms, home theaters, or offices but also serve as minimalist feature walls, instantly increasing the visual value of a property.

Material & Specs

What are Acoustic Wall Panels made of?

Our Acoustic Wall Panels feature a dual-layer structure: the base is high-density Recycled Polyester Felt, and the surface consists of premium high-density MDF wood slats. This combination ensures that the Wood Slat Panels offer both excellent acoustic performance and durability.

Are Acoustic Wall Panels waterproof?

These Acoustic Wall Panels are moisture-resistant but not entirely waterproof. They are perfect for living rooms, bedrooms, or dry commercial spaces. We do not recommend installing Acoustic Panels in bathrooms or outdoors where they may come into direct contact with significant amounts of water.

How thick are they and are they flexible?

Standard Acoustic Wall Panels have a total thickness of approximately 21mm-24mm. Since the polyester felt backing is highly pliable, these Flexible Acoustic Panels can be installed on curved walls with slight arcs, making them very versatile.

Installation

How to install Acoustic Wall Panels and what adhesive to use?

Installing Acoustic Wall Panels is very simple. You can use Construction Adhesive to glue them directly onto a flat wall, or use black self-tapping screws through the black felt backing to secure the Acoustic Panels to the wall or timber batten. The latter is the most secure method.

Can Acoustic Wall Panels be cut and what to cut with?

Yes. To cut the felt backing of the Acoustic Wall Panels, a standard utility knife is sufficient. For cutting the wood slats, we recommend using a fine-tooth saw or a circular saw to ensure the cut edges are neat and smooth.

Can you put Acoustic Wall Panels over wallpaper?

Yes. As long as the existing wallpaper is firmly attached and not peeling or bubbling, you can install Acoustic Wall Panels directly over it. We recommend using a combination of adhesive and screws for long-term stability.

How to fit Acoustic Wall Panels around corners?

For internal corners, you can simply butt two Acoustic Wall Panels together. For external corners, you can trim the edges for a flush fit or perform a 45-degree angle cut (mitering) on the wood slats for a perfect, seamless corner effect.

Customization

Can Acoustic Wall Panels be painted?

We do not recommend painting the felt backing, as it can clog the micro-pores and reduce sound absorption. However, you can paint, stain, or apply wood wax oil to the wood slats of the Acoustic Wall Panels to match your specific interior color scheme.

Maintenance

How to clean and trim Acoustic Wall Panels?

Acoustic Wall Panels are very low-maintenance. Simply use a vacuum cleaner regularly to remove dust from the felt gaps, or wipe the wood slat surfaces with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners to protect the wood veneer texture of the Acoustic Panels.
